ARTIST, ILLUSTRATOR & FULL-TIME COLOR LOVER BASED IN KARLSRUHE, GERMANY.
I am Sophie Kuhn, called Ofi, a freelance illustrator based in Germany. A characteristic element of my work – mostly inspired by daily life – are the happy and joyful associated colors which provide an unexpected contrast to the seldom smiling characters – mostly female-read persons.
When asked about the reasons for my characters‘ grumpiness, I often say: "We don't know if they are in a bad mood, actually. Maybe they are just sick of people / society expecting them to smile and look nice all the time. And I guess pretty much all of you (especially all female socialized human beings out there) know what I mean by that“.
